Our O'Neal offroad riders took on the fast and dusty track at Twentynine Palms put on by the Hilltoppers for round 5 of the NGPC series. It was a warm weekend with a dusty pro section which made for some interesting racing in order to make passes and find some clean air in order to take on the hour and a half race. See below what our riders had to say about their weekends:
Jack Simpson | 250 Pro:
The race started off well. I was in about 5th or 6th made some quick passes into 3rd. put my head down & put a charge on from middle to the end of the race. I reeled in second place, passed him with ease, and then tried to make up some time on the leader, but it's very hard to make up time because the track is so fast and easy that we were all going pretty close to the same speed. All in all good day for points
Colton Aeck | 250 Pro:
I got a good start in 3rd and was charging after the first lap trying to catch 1st and 2nd. The pro section this weekend was wide open as far as line choice goes which allowed everybody to get creative. I took some different lines a few laps to get out of the dust and that cost me a couple seconds on those laps. The track was really fast so losing ground to the riders in front of you made it really hard to reconnect with them. I was in 6th but was able to pass into 5th in the last corner. I salvaged some points and know what I need to do to be better. Looking forward to next weekend for WORCS in Blythe.
Justin Seeds | Vet Pro:
Started off the race really well getting out front early but unfortunately made a mistake in the arena and dropped back to 3rd. After the first lap I realized how fast a 450 is on this track and just couldn’t find that extra little speed to battle the leaders and ended up in third for the day
Cole Zeller from team Gainslinger was riding really well and finished 6th in the Pro 250 Class respectively.
Congrats to our O'Neal Offroad guys and look forward to seeing you guys out at the next round!
